What makes the Canton Fair hard to do alone

It is China's largest trade fair. Buyers who come back disappointed rarely lacked suppliers: they lacked a method.

A site of one and a half million square metres

In five days you only see a fraction of the booths. Without preparation, the first day goes on finding your hall.

Many booths are not factories

Traders and manufacturers exhibit side by side with the same catalogues. Telling them apart takes precise questions, asked in the right language.

Booth English only goes so far

The salesperson speaks English; the person who sets the price often does not. The real room for negotiation is discussed in Chinese.

The real work starts afterwards

Business cards, catalogues, prices scribbled in a hurry: without sorting and follow-up, most contacts go cold within weeks.

Two ways to come to China with us

During the fair, to meet many suppliers in a short time, or outside it, to see the factories up close.

Canton Fair assistance

Someone at your side before, during and after the fair.

  • Choosing your phase and shortlisting exhibitors
  • Days in the halls, interpreting and negotiation in Chinese
  • Questions that reveal factory versus trader
  • Written supplier summary and follow-up after the fair

Factory visits, all year round

No need to wait for April or October to see your suppliers in South China.

  • Factory shortlist and appointments
  • Travel between sites organised
  • On-site checks: business licence, capacity, subcontracting
  • A written report for each visit

How an assignment works

At every stage you know what is planned, what it costs and what you will receive.

  1. First call

We learn about your products, your volumes and what you expect from the fair.

  2. Preparation

Choice of phase, list of exhibitors to see, target prices and a written programme with a quote.

  3. On site

Days in the halls together, negotiation in Chinese, a debrief every evening.

  4. After the fair

Factory visits if needed, a supplier comparison table, follow-up in Chinese.

What your trip looks like

A typical one-phase visit, from the first call to your return home.

  1. 6 to 8 weeks before

    Choose your phase and book

Flights, hotel and buyer registration on the official portal. Hotels near the fair fill up early and prices climb.

  2. 2 to 3 weeks before

    Build the list

We shortlist exhibitors in the official catalogue and prepare technical questions and target prices with you.

  3. The day before

    Arrival and badge

Collect your badge without the queues and go over the next day's programme.

  4. Fair days

    In the halls

Two to three days are enough for one phase when the list is ready. Every booth visited is photographed and logged.

  5. After the fair

    The factories

One to three days to see the shortlisted suppliers in South China, where the products are actually made.

  6. Back home

    Summary and follow-up

Supplier comparison table, sample tracking and follow-up in Chinese.

More about us

Frequently asked questions

How much does Canton Fair assistance cost?
€300 per day, at the fair or in factories. Remote preparation and the written summary are included. Transport with a driver and hotel booking are not included: we can arrange them for you, at your expense. You receive a written quote before committing.
Do I need a visa for the Canton Fair?
It depends on your nationality. China currently grants 30-day visa-free entry, business trips included, to citizens of a long list of countries, including France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium and Switzerland. Details in our visa guide.
How many days should I plan?
For a single phase: two to three days in the halls if your exhibitor list is ready, then one to three days to visit the factories you shortlist. With flights, allow most of a week in China.
Exhibitors speak English. Why bring someone?
The salesperson on the booth often speaks English; the person who decides on price rarely does. Someone who speaks Chinese lets you negotiate with that person, ask the questions that reveal whether you are facing a factory or a trader, and follow up after the fair.
Do you assist several clients at once?
No: one company per day, so the time spent in the halls is entirely about your products. On request, factory visits can be organised for a small group of companies from the same sector.
